5. Favorite part of the stage show.
I have three major favorite parts. In order of my most favorite, they are:
This is my absolute favorite! The whole tone of the play is changed when the Phantom’s voice bellows throughout the theatre and he makes his presence known… everyone is excited…! We finally get to see the Phantom! And what a great appearance - magically appearing behind the mirror! I love it. One of my favorite stage effects. And I love watching each Phantom and how they look at Christine when she sings her line after he appears. And the fog! And the mirror opening! And the door not opening for Raoul until it’s too late for him! It’s so magical, and mysterious, and we are all dying to know what happens next. And then there’s a blackout and the organ to the title song. I think this scene is when the Phantom is at his most mysterious.
On a similar note, when you sit VERY close to the stage and are on the correct angle, you can often see the Phantom in the mirror BEFORE you’re supposed to (during Little Lotte), which is quite funny to see what he’s doing, but it ruins the moment just a little. He steps into the scene WAY before he even appears and is just chillin’ there while Raoul & Christine are going on. LOL.
